Save for a few exceptional scenarios, Midgard’s architectural technology was superior to that of what Earth possessed.

This superiority came from the fact that there were no fantasy-like powers such as alchemy back on Earth. Even if it was something impossible to build back on Earth, if alchemy was used, it could easily be made possible.

For example, the unnecessarily big Royal Tomb only took ten years to build because alchemy was utilised during the process. If the same thing were to be built back on Earth, it would have taken a lot longer to complete.

Nevertheless, there was a limit to everything.

Even for alchemy, not everything was possible, as there existed limitations on its usage.

However, in every society, there were those rare individuals who could be called prodigies even amongst geniuses.[1] And at times, these prodigies were able to ignore what everyone else considered to be the norm and go out of bounds to such an extraordinary extent that they were able to reach a domain that nobody had thought possible to reach.

In other words, it was basically that. The man known as Mizar was one of those rare individuals in that category… That was what I was about to be made aware of.

We travelled in Tanaka for a few days.

What we ended up reaching was an enormous… or rather, some castle-like structure that was way too enormous.

It was so tall that it reached into the sky, and its length was definitely well over a kilometre.

Huh? Or rather, was this thing even a castle? That entire thing?

Not to mention there were various cannons sticking out here and there. It just looked like a battleship.

Whilst I was staring at it blankly in a daze, Dina spoke to me.

“I just went to have a look. That is our next destination, The Mobile Capital Blutgang.”

“… Mobile… Capital?”

“Yes, the Smith King Mizar’s greatest and final invention. That is Blutgang. It’s a golem with a height of 300m, length of 1100m and width of 400m. Created using orichalcum, it has managed to repel all the advances made thus far by the demons. I have heard that the inside is split into 15 different floors and consists of different areas for both residential and business purposes.”

The entirety of the capital itself was a giant weapon… that was scary, what the hell.

Who would imagine that the very target of the advance, the capital itself, was going to be the one to commence attack?

Not to mention it was a level 770 golem that had been created using cash shop items. It was not funny at all.

Or more like, Mizar, aren’t you living in the wrong world?

If anything, this golem looks like something that should be in a robot anime about space wars.

Why are you making an enormous space warship in a fantasy world… why didn’t you think about how out of place it would look in this world?

“So he turned the entire capital into a golem… I was surprised about Levia, but this is going beyond even that. Although, maybe I should be saying as expected of the Smith King.”

“Wow… It’s, it’s so big.”

Virgo was looking dumbfounded next to me with her mouth wide open.

Her pure white wings were moving frantically, making it very easy to tell how excited she was.

Aries and Aigokeros must have already known about this, as they did not react at all. But strangely, even though Libra had no emotions, she seemed proud of it.

Ahh, I had forgotten, but Mizar was like a parent to her.

“Well, it’s as much of a golem as it looks, so it’s extremely strong against all physical attacks.”

“Definitely looks like it. Even Aries or Libra would struggle and have to put in quite a lot of effort to take that thing down.”

“Apparently, in case of emergencies, it’s even able to transform into a humanoid form. It seems that it’s even possible for it to trade punches with the enemy.”

“At this rate, it can do everything, huh.”

“Yeah. But having said that, its compatibility with Scorpius is….”

“The absolute worst, isn’t it?”

Blutgang was a golem. As a consequence, poison did not work against it, so in a way, it had the advantage in a fight against Scorpius.

But, the people inside were a completely different story.

However firm Blutgang itself was, if everyone inside it was massacred by their poison, it was practically a defeat.

If anything, it would be easier for the poison to spread because they were in an enclosed space within the golem.

It seemed that coming here in a hurry was not a mistake after all.

“Ruphas-sama, what should we do about our disguises?”

“I recall that a Dwarf’s lifespan is not that long. If that’s the case, then I guess there shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as I hide my wings. I’ll go with the clothing that Megrez gave me this time.”

In response to Libra’s question, I replied by deciding to use the clothing I had previously received from Megrez.

There were two options that I could choose to wear when I went outside. One was to completely cover myself and look like a suspicious person, and the other was to use the bandages that I had received from Megrez and daringly show myself.

With the first option, the chances of my wings being seen by others was very low, but I would look like a suspicious person, so people would be suspicious of me from the start.

If I chose the latter option, I would not look suspicious, but the consequences would be troublesome if someone who knew my face were to see me.

There were advantages and disadvantages to both, so it was important that I used them correctly.

If it was unlikely that people would recognise my face, then it was better to boldly step out with only my wings hidden than be overly cautious and cover myself entirely.

The more one tried to be sneaky about something, the more suspicious they became.

I made Aigokeros turn his back towards me and tried to start changing, but at that moment, Aries also turned around in a hurry.

Ah, not good, I had completely forgotten that Aries was also male. His appearance was totally that of a girl’s, so I had forgot about it.

To a confused Virgo, Libra explained, “That thing is a male.”

“Ah, Ruphas-sama. It’s fine to continue whilst staying in Tanaka. Blutgang has a dock that can store golems.”

“Hmm, that’s convenient.”

We did as Dina advised and continued to progress without stepping out of Tanaka.

When we reached the castle, a walking armored golem came out of the castle with a “gasha gasha” sound.

It was probably one of the golems that patrolled Blutgang.

From the looks of it, their average level was around level 50. These did not look like they were products of Mizar.

“PlEaSe SToP riGHt tHEre. PleaSE STAte yoUr reASon fOr EntrY aNd sHoW yOuR PErMIt. THAnk You VERY MuCH.”

“I’m a wandering merchant, Dina. I came here to conduct business. Here is my permit.”

Dina answered and flashed her permit in front of the patrol golem’s eyes.

When she did that, the area around the golem’s eyes flashed with a blue light, and it made a funny beeping sound.

Maybe it was scanning the permit?

“CheCKiNG the PErmiT coMPLeTed.”

“nEXT, I wILL chECK INSIde ThE GoLEm.”

When the patrol golem made that statement, Dina got out of Tanaka and gestured for everyone else to come outside.

It seemed that we were to wait outside until the golem finished checking inside Tanaka.

Since there was no reason for us to disobey their orders, everyone obediently followed Dina’s instructions.

“They are inspecting inside the golem and making sure that no dangerous materials are brought inside. What Blutgang needs to be cautious of the most are demons or the like infiltrating the city. And, in the case that there was someone like Jupiter disguised as a human, most of them would be caught here.”

“I see. But if it’s something like that, wouldn’t something like Libra be caught here?”

Libra may have had the appearance of a maid, but on the inside, she was packed with a surprising amount of armaments.

Let alone all of her external weapons like her machine gun, even Libra’s built-in weapons should easily raise a red flag.

Putting it another way, it would not be incorrect to think of her as a walking dangerous item.

That was what I was thinking, but nevertheless, the patrol golems did not even bring up Libra to us.

“Please do not worry master. There is too much of a difference in quality between them and I. Inferior golems that can only crudely scan the surface will not be able to see past my disguise.”

“Is, is that so?”

Yeah, she’s definitely a dangerous item.

What was scary about her? Well, just the fact that she would not even be caught at the inspection checkpoints at all was scary.

However, it wasn’t just Libra that was at risk of being flagged.

Aigokeros was hiding inside my shadow, so they wouldn’t say anything about him, but the problem was Aries.

Yet, the patrol golems again did not say anything in regard to Aries, and gave us permission to pass through.

While I was wondering how that had happened I noticed that Dina had a triumphant look on her face.

“Did you conceal our status?”

“E-x-a-c-t-l-y.”[2]

It looked like Dina had used her cheats and managed to fool them.

When it came to stuff like that, she was really reliable.

After being let through by the golems, Tanaka, who was carrying the lot of us, passed through the gate and entered Blutgang.

After passing through a gate which was surrounded by steel in all directions, we were stopped by the hand signal of a dwarf in worker’s clothing, who was probably a guide of some sort.

“Hey, we’ll take care of the golem over here. It’s forbidden to travel in a golem inside the capital.”

“Understood. Everyone, let’s walk from here on out.”

After placing Tanaka under the dwarf’s care, we continued to stand in front of the large door which we assumed would lead to the capital.

When we did so, the dwarf operated the switch that was next to the door. Subsequently, the large door made a heavy sound as it opened.

The large door opened sideways, and the inside of Blutgang was bared for us to see.

What was in front of us was, without a doubt, a city.

There was a painting of a blue sky above it all which mimicked the real sky, and artificial light was shining down.

Although the area was only 1100m in length with a width of 400m and buildings were crammed next to each other, there were major roads, parks, and various stores throughout.

The ceiling was also fairly high, which I estimated to likely have a height of around 20m, allowing us to avoid feeling oppressed or entrapped.

There were even residential apartments and mansions. One might easily forget that they were inside a golem if they did not keep it in mind.

As my curiosity got the better of me and I started to look around, surprisingly, instead of the usual Dina, Libra started with the exposition this time.

“Out of the 15 floors within Blutgang, the residential areas occupy up to the eighth floor. Each area is called ‘the First City’, ‘the Second City’ and so on. The ninth and the tenth floors are commercial areas. There are various stores lined up in these areas. The eleventh to thirteenth floors are office areas. All of the companies that operate within Blutgang are lined up on these floors. Factories and storage areas make up about half of them. The fourteenth floor is where the royal chambers are. Only the royalty and those deemed worthy by the royalty are allowed access to that floor. And finally, the fifteenth floor is where Blutgang’s main command centre is and is only accessible to very few individuals. The high-level golems created by Mizar-sama are also stored on that floor.”

“You’re quite informed.”

“Blutgang is like a little brother to me.”

Oi, that’s a pretty big little brother.

I wanted to retort back as such but was barely able to hold it back as I looked at the side of Libra’s face, which remained emotionless as usual.

Although their sizes and the methods of their creation were different, both Libra and Blutgang had both been created by Mizar.

In all likelihood, even she took some certain things into consideration.

“And Karkinos is somewhere in this capital… There’s no mistake about that, right?”

“Yes. There should not be any mistakes this time.”

Dina purposefully replied to my question with an emphasis on “this time”.

Previously, even though she had said that Parthenos was there, when we actually got to the location, Parthenos had already passed away. Dina had probably kept that in mind when she had replied.

Personally, after seeing that even Dina was not a perfect person, I could relate more intimately to her, but there was no reason for me to tell her that.

“Hmm. Well, for now, let’s get some food to fill our stomachs. Fortunately, it seems that there are still restaurants in the residential areas.”

“During the early days, the restaurants were only located in the commercial areas. However, because the citizens complained that it was bothersome to travel to the commercial area every time, some of the general goods stores and eateries were moved to the residential areas.”

We walked about the city as Libra explained things.

Compared to the cities that we had seen thus far, everything, including the buildings, looked new.

Of course, compared to the modern world of Japan, there were still some aspects that looked outdated. However, it did not look old by any means.

Hmm… I would say that it looked more recent?

If you described the city as something that resembled 18th or 19th century London… That might best fit how it looked.

Of course, not everything looked like that. I just phrased it that way because it best matched what I recalled from the top of my head. There might have been better ways to describe it, but it was just easier for me to describe it as such.

As such, it was not as if there were bridges here and there like what you would expect of London during that time. To begin with, there were not even any large lakes or rivers that would require the use of bridges in the first place. There were some small ones here though.

Although I had stated that the buildings were big, because there was a certain physical limitation called the ceiling, everything was still on a smaller scale.

Well, it was whatever. For now, I just wanted to get something to eat.

It wasn’t as if I had not eaten anything, but because we were on a journey, all of the food products that were stored in Tanaka were things that could last for a long time.

Although there was something that somewhat resembled a refrigerator, it was a far cry from the real one.

To begin with, because I did not know the mechanics behind how a refrigerator worked, I just casually created a box that could somewhat seal things well and used Dina’s water magic to fill it up with ice.

Which is to say, rather than a refrigerator, it was more like a cooler box.

It was better than not having anything at all, but something felt off. It just wasn’t the same.

As a consequence, when we reached a city or a town, we would usually end up eating there.

Eating good food helped us to avoid becoming stressed out too. So I was just stating the obvious.

“Ah, Ruphas-sama. Doesn’t this place look nice?”

“Yeah. Personally, I think the store across the road with the crab sign looks interesting too.”

The shop that Virgo was pointing to was a nice-looking store that was surprisingly made out of wood.

There were various plants lined up in front of the store, and it looked like it had a nice atmosphere.

But I personally couldn’t help but feel curious about the store that was boldly giving off a beach feeling by putting out a crab sign even whilst being inside this golem.

Having said that, because we were travelling with others and Virgo, who had just recently joined us, was being assertive, I felt that I should fold here.

The next time we’re here, we can give the crab store a visit.

“Anyways, that store has a nice atmosphere too. Let’s go there this time.”[3]

“Yay!”

Virgo was childish like Aries. However, unlike Aries, she also had a bright personality. She had a happy and vivid personality which made people smile when they looked at her.

I felt that Aries’s personality was too reserved, so I would prefer if he learnt some things from her.

As I was thinking that, we opened the door to the restaurant and went inside.

Now then, I just hope that some weird dish won’t be served.

(Author note)

[The Mobile Capital Blutgang]

The Smith King Mizar’s final invention from during his prime.

It has a height of 300m and a length of 1100m. When it transforms into its humanoid form, it has a height of 1100m and length of 300m.

After sensing an abnormality in his mind, he put his all into creating this whilst trying to retain his sanity. It was for the purpose of “protecting himself, even in his time of weakness and death.”

If you were to forcibly fill it with people, it could accommodate a few million people, along with its agricultural plants. In the case that it was attacked, the capital itself was able to move and retaliate and/or escape.

Inside, other than the golems created by the dwarves, there were super golems that averaged around level 300 on standby that were able to repel the advances of the demons (though the Demon King and his son were not included in that list).

In the case that it was pushed into a corner, there were mass-produced Libra-type golems on standby that had been created using Libra’s blueprints.

Although the hero himself was absent, the city’s ability to preserve itself was definitely top-class in Midgard.

[Mass Produced Libra-Type]

Imitations that look just like Libra. However, in contrast to the original, their hair color is white instead.

Their built-in armaments are either the Left Scale OR the Right Scale. They have the ability to fly and track enemies, as well as access to various firearms.

There are a total of four in existence, all of which are level 700.

They were reserved as trump cards that served as the final line of defence in the case that an enemy appeared that even Blutgang couldn’t handle.

Originally, there had been 5 of them, but during the fight with the Demon King, Mizar took one along and it ended up being destroyed.

Q: Why are there mostly level 300 golems? If it’s Mizar, shouldn’t he be able to create golems up to level 700?

A: He had his hands full creating the Blutgang itself while mass-producing golems. After his golem squad was defeated by the Demon King, I think he probably thought, “It’s better than nothing, ” and created them on a whim.

Q: Create a golem using nature like Megrez!

A: I will only recognise a golem if it is made out of metal! – Mizar

[1] Slightly altered from the raw, the raw stated that “a natural disaster would be born amongst geniuses”. This is because both “natural disaster” and “genius” is pronounced “tensai” even though they’re written differently in kanji. The meaning is pretty much the same as what was written above.

[2] This part was written in English (or in katakana) instead of Japanese.

[3] The raw used “sense” instead of “atmosphere”. Although it’s not exactly the same thing, in Japanese they use “sense” in the same way we would use “atmosphere”.

    1. Lol, u make it sound like ppl reading normally on this site gets affected, cuz we don’t. If there’s problem with reader mode or whatever, just don’t use it then. It’s not even like this site’s hard to read or infected with ads like some others. I use reader mode sometime too but it’s not that hard to not use it. Geez can never please ppl these days, ppl like u make all the good tl quit. All we get these days r mtler cuz they take no effort like aggregators.

      1. I don’t get affected by it by using reader mode, I get affected by it because I have to use TTS as my eyes are broke, sensitive, and hurt by themselves, much less from having to squint at text on screens. Additionally, normal readers probably don’t ever see these messages, but with that said, probably less than half the people that DO see them are actually reading them on an aggregate website. Just because something doesn’t apply to you doesn’t mean the person complaining about it doesn’t have a good reason to do so.

With all that said, to the TL I’d like to appologize. My previous comment was fueled by the passive aggressive frustration from the hidden messages from the last chapter, but after this one I’ve found the improvements to be very acceptable. To me, the hidden messages that simply point to your site and only show up a few times in the chapter are perfectly fine compared to the silly, difficult to distinguish from the story ones that were sprinkled all throughout the previous chapter. Your website is fine and easy to read on just as Chris said, you should only need to inform someone unknowingly reading on an aggregate website of the original website rather than trying to annoy them to their wits end.

      2. Hi guys, yea the hidden lines have been greatly reduced (to 3 locations; 1 near the start, 1 near the middle, and 1 near the end) to make it so that it’s not as annoying. And I have decided not to do any more hidden lines that’ll mislead the reader as part of the story. I got too excited, sorry.

I understand your frustration and will not be spamming the hidden texts like the last chapter, though to not mislead you guys, I still plan to have 3 hidden lines from now on, I hope you will be understanding.

Also, thank you for keeping the criticism in a civil manner, I really appreciate it.

    1. Hi hi, thanks for reading.

As for Arafoo novel, I am aware of the series and read a few chapters of it. As for collaboration with him >..< And that would be unfair to the readers. I think I will consider another series once I finish A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is finished, but until then, I don't think I will be able to. Sorry 😥
